The Vortex Mesh Network is a self-contained, self-organising, self-healing and self-configuring wireless network based on Silicon Lab’s low-power wireless mesh protocols (Thread).
Key features include:
- ZigBee Thread (17 channels available over Zigbee Bandwidth)
- Supports Internet Protocol IPv6
- Can use both 2.4GHz (250 kb/s) and sub-GHz (20 kb/s) ISM bands
- Wireless connectivity - Allows remote battery-powered deployment for 3-5 years
- Low-power bespoke design
Vortex’ proprietary protocol offers long-range (>30km) using multi-hop messaging and minimises battery consumption using cooperative energy-aware networking by dynamic topology reconfiguration, dynamic sampling rate and dynamic resource allocation to conserve energy.
